Wielka migracja - Great migration

Kazdego roku w porze suchej, stada antylop lacza sie ze soba i wspolnie przemierzaja olbrzymie odleglosci w poszukiwaniu jedzenia. Stada te potrafia liczyc ponad milion osobnikow! Podczas naszego pobytu w Kenii, wyjatkowo dluga i dokuczliwa pora sucha miala sie ku koncowi.

Every year during the dry season, herds of antelopes are getting together to travel long distances in order to find food. These herds can count up to over a million members! During our stay in Kenya, unusually long and tough dry season was coming to an end. We have witnessed thousands of Wildebeests appearing in the Masai Mara National Park within one day. The movies below were made from the observation station at the Keekorok lodge.

Lodza w parku Jeziora Nakuru - The Lake Nakuru Lodge

The second visited by us parks was the Lake Nakuru National Park. Lodge in which we stayed in was placed on the hill right in the middle of the park, giving us a view on the almost all of its terrain. Baboons did not have any problems with getting over the fence, geckos were climbing on the walls of our room and so were occasionally tarantulas. And it was only a fence that was separating us from the rest of wild animals living there.

Ptaki - Birds

We have come across the birds wherever we travelled to – previously mentioned flamingos and ox peckers along with vultures, guinea fowls, marabou storks, ostriches, ground hornbills, Egyptian gooses and many others. As usually, the ones which were exotic to us, for the people living there would be just like a sparrow or black bird to us.
